Chance's Status Update for 2023 Q1 & Q2
To wrap up Chatek's work done in Q1 and Q2 of 2023, I would like to use this post to reflect on what we did, who we've worked with and pave the way for the rest of 2023.
To wrap up Chatek's work done in Q1 and Q2 of 2023, I would like to use this post to reflect on what we did, who we've worked with and pave the way for the rest of 2023.
The 3 years of Covid19 pandemic taught me how to be resilient and agile, and yet be open-minded enough to NOT predicting the future, but rather, adapting to life as it unfolds itself to us.
A lot happened in first half of 2023.
Life
My families went through Covid19 all well, thanks to the Karma I've got so far. New apartment is almost ready to use, and big home-moving jobs ahead!
My kid has regained more diverse interests besides gaming and Lego, and he is more social than ever. What a relief!
I embrace intermittent fasting and a Keto-style diet. It worked out well and keeping fit together with my daily stretching routine feels effortless.
My sustained interests in running villagecity.org with trial and errors helps me keep up my commitment in promoting Deliberate Practice, and attention mastery practices, in particular, on social media and info-diet. Learning something with the intent of teaching it is probably the best approach for learning it. It's been lengthening my attention spans in whatever I do, and enhance my agility in switching between Focus Mode and Diffuse Mode, and more importantly, in Context Switching between TWO tasks closest to each other.
Work
I've been engaged myself with GPT, and later Bard, in assisting my dApp designs. Mostly new iterations for tiktag.us and 2 other CLI-first apps. I was not able to kick start developer work on them since I haven't figured out who can benefit from using them, yet. The good thing is, I've been using the available versions we've built so far on top of the hybrid-cloud infrastructure in Chatek office.
I keep getting consulting work invites. But I only took the ones that matter the most to my own projects' growth in terms of revenue and relevance in product directions.
Partners & Communities
Ryan Sy is leaving China and will settle down in Manila, the Philippines, his home town/country. Good for his families. We'll keep working on things we've agreed to work on and I'll keep supporting his requests for tech or product. Although nothing significant happened on business side between us, we maintain constant contact over new deals, products, and partnership opportunities.
I keep looking into things I can do in Web3 and AI / LLMs. Things are looking good and new opportunities seem to pop up more. AI may be the ONLY category that are startup-worthy in China. Since AI/AGI/LLMs related topics are on rapid rise lately on social media and among people I'm close to.
It's been a quiet Q1 and Q2. I'm happy that I can keep up with what I've started even since 2017, in terms of tech stack/assets/designs, and a sustained vision for my future jobs.
